Shepherd’s Bush and King’s Road targeted during riots

Last updated at 07:34PM 8 August

The riots from North London managed to spread to the West and South-West parts of London last night. Shepherd’s Bush’s shopping mall Westfield in was targeted by mask youths, throwing stones at vehicles but no reports of looting. Weirdly enough, this pic from last night showed Westfield completely deserted, so I’m guessing this is just a myth:

This morning, security guards and barriers were apparently set-up at the entrance of Westfield.

Oddly enough, the affluent King’s Road was also targeted, breaking into Gutlin Clocks (pictured) and an ice cream parlour on Duke of York Square (out of all the shops to target – e.g. Jack Wills, Peter Jones, Jigsaw – they go for sweeties).

Otherwise, Hammersmith & Fulham and the Royal Borough of Kensington & Chelsea all appear to be intact. Still, can’t help but say I’m a tad worried about what will happen at the Notting Hill Carnival. Here’s hoping rioters stay away from there too – there’s already enough trouble as it is.
