Status of Notting Hill Carnival remains unclear

There is still a chance that the famous Notting Hill Carnival may not go ahead this year; the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea Council and the Metropolitan Police are still monitoring the situation in London before making any concrete decision. There are, however, plans and systems at the ready if the Carnival does get the green light.

UPDATE: According to the Guardian, the Carnival looks set to go ahead, with the official confirmation to be announced on Thursday

If the Carnival does go ahead, it will likely be a more compomised outing in order to reduce the risk of trouble. This includes an early start and finish to the famous street party.
