Apply for a Diamond Jubilee street party

London 2012? Oh please, it’s all about the street parties in celebration of Her Majesty the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee. Applications for the parties are now open and all bets will be placed on SW6 for the best street party!

Fulham park reopens after refurbishment

William Parnell Park has reopened to the public after improvements were carried out to create a safer and and secure play area for children.

The park – known locally as Pineapple Park – now boasts a tiger climbing frame with cargo net, a large slide, stepping stones on one of its hills, a sand pit and board walk to ensure an exciting and fun area for children. Students and young people from Langford Primary School, Sands End Adventure Project and Bridge Academy helped to design the features of the park along with the local authorities and residents.

Chelsea FC looking to move to Battersea

Speaking of Chelsea FC, the Premier League club is now looking to move to Battersea near the iconic Battersea Power Station. The club have not confirmed any move away from Stamford Bridge, their home since 1905, but are looking at other sites in West London.

The football club is hoping to construct a 55,000 – 60,000 capacity stadium near the London landmark, which is larger than their current 42,000-capacity ground at Stamford Bridge.

H&F Council to improve Eel Brook Common

Eel Brook Common is to finally be given some attention it needs as the council looks to breathe new life to the park. Its got that Chelsea FC astroturf but apart from that, it doesn’t have much to boast about. Here’s hoping the changes will change that.

Designer day sale at charity boutique Trinity Hospice

Stay safe on Halloween & Bonfire Night

Boo! It’s that time of year again where we dress up as mindless zombies, Jokers, vampires or Justin Bieber. The Fulhamroad.co.uk team are wishing all trick or treaters in Fulham a frightening, fun and safe Halloween with respect to your follow neighbours.

But if you’re not the one for scary surprises or handing out your own stash of sweets, the Hammersmith and Fulham Council (H&F) has issued a ‘no trick or trea’ poster for you to print and display on your door:

Extra police will be deployed during the week to ensure the safety of residents and trick or treaters. They’ll also be on patrol before and during Bonfire Night on 5 November. Local shops and businesses are working closely with the police anc checking their fireworks pass standard tests and are sold safely.

Residents are reminded to report any fly-tips and rubbish on open land, especially if it is flammable, to the Cleaner Greener hotline on 020 8753 1100.
